Liz Garnett has been a commercial photographer for over 30 years specialising in travel images in France and the UK. Her work has been published internationally in books, magazines, newspapers and travel brochures. She has also undertaken local and European commissions for travel, interiors, architectural and portraiture.
For stock photography Liz is represented by Alamy and Superstock. Clients include: Harpers and Queen, Mitchel Beazley, Eurotunnel, Kent County Council, France Magazine, Cresta Holidays, BT Batsford, The Telegraph, Cambridge University Press and Phaidon. Stock photography covers: Australia, Belgium, Belize, France, The Gambia, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
As an art photographer, Liz specialises in manipulating negatives and transparencies to create contemporary images that explore colour and texture. Her art images have sold worldwide and have been exhibited in London and the South East as well as in mainland Europe. She has been featured in: Kent Life, Professional Photographer and Aspect County magazines. Recently, she has started to use digital photography for a new art project, A Creative Pilgrimage.
In November 2019 Liz, along with Alexandra le Rossignol, organised a Creative Pilgrimage. The seven Kent artists followed the Augustine Camino from Rochester to Ramsgate. The route was split into 14 walks and was completed between November 2019 and August 2021. The group have exhibited their work in Kent and plan further exhibitions in 2022. In addition to this, the group have other pilgrimages planned and art pilgrimage experiences.
In February 2019 Liz launched a crowdfunding page on Patreon to fund a project to photograph and create walks in Kent. Further details can be found at: www.patreon.com/lizgarnett. The pandemic has put this project on hold while Liz looks into reworking it. In the meantime she is working on a series of walking books on Kent.
Liz is also the author of French Holiday Cookery series, British Holiday Cookery and a novel, Journey. In 2016/17 she was a co-host on the Girls Do Coffee show on the digital radio station Expat Radio. The show was broadcast from France every Thursday morning along with Deborah Alexander, Gwen Jenner and Dave Hailwood.
