Liz started the year by working on re-branding and creating a new mailing list. This will make it easier to send out newsletters and exhibition invites. She has also been working on new images and exhibition planning.

An annual event for Liz is the AVA Christmas Art Fair at Godinton House outside Ashford. This years' was a great success.

Liz took part in the Elham Christmas Fair in aid of The Pilgrims Hospice.

Liz was involved with organising Inspired by Local Business - an exhibition of local businesses at St Mary's Church, Brabourne.

Two local exhibition opportunities for Liz. One was a two day art exhibition of local and international artists at Brook Agricultural Museum near Ashford. The other was a post South East Open Studios exhibition at The Art Room in Ashford.

Liz took part in the South East Open Studios Preview Exhibition at The Art Room in Ashford. The exhibition was a great success.

Liz started work on a series of articles for The Village Directory on artists participating in South East Open Studios. The articles will run over three months: April, May and June.

Over two weeks in August Liz got together with Alex le Rossignol for an albumen printing workshop. This was the first time they had worked together and it was a great success. Liz took part in an exhibition organised by Ashford Visual Artusts called The Vortex. The exhibition was held in an empty shop space in Ashford's County Square shopping mall.

For the second year running Liz judged the art and photography at Brook Village show.

June 2009

Liz's open studio as part of South East Open Studios proved to be a great success this year. There were many new visitors and Liz Enjoyed the opportunity to explain her work and talk about the difference camera formats she uses.

South East Open Studios also provided an excellent platform to network with other artists and a number of ne projects have come out of this.

Emma Dove from The Art Room Gallery visited during open studios and invited Liz to exhibit at her new gallery in Ashfor.d A number of Liz's photographs will be in the gallery from July.

The Garret Gallery in Tenterden hosted an exhibition showcasing work by artists participating in South East Open Studios (www.seos-art.org) including work by Liz. Sadly this was the last exhibition at the Garret.

Liz has had work accepted for the "All You need Is…" exhibition at The Garret Gallery, Sawyers Lane, Tenterden, Kent runs until 14 February 2009 and includes artworks by Liz and a wide selection of other Kent artists. www.garretgallery.co.uk

December has been a very busy month.  The AVA Art Fair at Godinton House was a great success for Liz. 

At the end of December Liz was busy creating an internet shop on the Etsy website to make it easier for people to buy her work.  The web address of the site is:
http://lizgarnett.etsy.com .  The site takes payment by paypal and credit card.

Liz has been very busy accepting invitations to exhibitions and this has resulted in four in December.  She has also been busy helping to recruit artists for the 2009 South East Open Studios.

On 19 July Liz was judging art and photography at Brook village show.
June 2008
The media launch for the library gallery exhibition was a great success.  It was opened by David Hill (Chief Executive of Ashford Borough Council) and Chris Dixon (Ashford BC Arts Officer) gave a talk about the participating artists.  The exhibition has been well received by visitors.

Liz's open studio has also got off to a good start with lots of sales and commissions.  Liz has been enjoying the opportunity to chat to her visitors and has already been getting inspiration for a new body of work. 

Over the first weekend Liz also created some new flower and fruit photographs which can be seen at the last weekend.
May 2008
Work is now well under way for this year's open studio.  Liz is also organising an exhibition of work by artists taking part in South East Open Studios from the Borough of Ashford.  The exhibition at Ashford Library Gallery will run from 3 - 13 June 2008 and will give visitors a flavour of what to expect from the different artists' studios in and around Ashford.

Liz has been busy in her studio photographing more flowers and preparing for future exhibitions. These have included film based experimental pictures of flowers as well as emulsion lifts of flowers.

Liz has been busy helping to recruit artists for this years South East Open Studios and is busy preparing work for show in her open studio.
December 2007
The private view of Christmas Quartet at The Gallery in The Friars in Canterbury was a great success.

As part of Liz's work for South East Open Studios Liz organised for Meridian TV to film at Chris and Vikky Furse's studio at Smarden.  Along with the Furses, Liz was filmed with Joel Arnstein and Rib Bloomfield alongside the work of Mandy Munroe.

November 2007

The beginning of November has brought cold weather and inspired Liz to start a new body of work while still experimenting with different films and processes.

Liz took part in the Ashford Visual Artists Art Fair at Godinton House, Ashford at the end of the month.  There will be 22 professional artists taking part.

October 2007

Liz took a stand at Elham Christmas Market on 25 October and had a very good evening.

September 2007

September will be spent photographing the Kent countryside as summer turns to autumn.

Liz will be joining other Ashford Visual Artists in Ashford's Lower High Street on Saturday 22 September to exhibit their work and demonstrate their art practice.

Liz will also be promoting the art rental of her photographs to local businesses.

August 2007

The "Not The Summer Exhibition" at The Courtyard Gallery, Mersham Le Hatch near Ashford was extended until the end of September.

Liz spent the best part of August in Northern Britanny photographing the area.

July 2007
Liz is celebrating the success of her open studio this year. 

Professional Photographer magazine have interviewed Liz about her open studio for the August issue of the magazine.

Liz is currently putting together work for the "Not The Summer Exhibition" at The Courtyard Gallery, Mersham Le Hatch near Ashford which will run from 24 July to 2 September.  Liz is thrilled to have been asked to take part in this show at this new contemporary gallery outside Ashford.

The Photographic Glimpses internet project with Rebecca Hale in Australia is now up and running.  www.photographicglimpses.com.

Liz has set up an online shop in the USA with Cafe Press selling merchandise printed with her images.

Liz is busy co-organising the Ashford Visual Artists "Tour" exhibition alongside Mandy Munroe with help from David Jones and Oliver Winconek.  Both Mandy and Liz have a considerable amount of experience curating group exhibitions. The exhibition takes place between 19 June and 7 July 2007 at the Ashford Library Gallery and celebrates the Tour de France's visit to the town in July.  Liz is currently working on her images for this exhibition and is struggling for inspiration!

March 2007

Work is currently underway on a new internet based project with Australian photographer, Rebecca Hale.  The website will be live soon. Watch this space!

Liz is also currently working on a number of other projects in preparation for South East Open Studios in June.

The Flowers by Liz Garnett exhibition at Oaklands Health Centre in Hythe opened on 5 February.  This exhibition includes some new images and runs until June.  Comments from the visitors book at the private view included: "wonderful, vibrant photos!" and "great compositions and colour".

December 2006

This is a busy month for Liz with the AVA Art at Godinton House (Ashford) art sale and the Christmas exhibition at the West End House Gallery in Smarden.  Liz will be taking her turn to sit in at both exhibitions.  She also has a selection of her flower portraits in the By Hand (selected) exhibition at Ashford Library Gallery.

Liz has taken on the role of Area Co-Ordinator (Ashford East) for South East Open Studios and is looking forward to this new role.

July 2006

Liz is breathing a sigh of relief after an exhausting few months working on South East Open Studios.  She is now going to spend the next couple of months creating new work and enjoying the summer.

South East Open Studios is keeping Liz busy this month.  She will be opening her studio on 10/11, 18 and 24/25 June between 10 am and 5pm.  New images will be available along with a new mug design.

May 2006

Liz has had work accepted for the First Class Post exhibition and will have her work displayed in Folkestone Library Gallery alongside mail art from other Kent based artists.

Liz has two images in the AVA Journey exhibition at The Horsebridge Gallery in Whitstable.

Liz is busy preparing for her open studio in June and has been creating some new experimental flower images with chrysanthemums.

www.spice.co.uk have teamed up with Liz to produce t-shirts, linen bags, mousemats and wheelie bin stickers depicting her flowers.  All can be bought online using a credit card.  Liz was originally drawn to the site by their linen bags which she feels are an excellent idea.

Liz secures the domain name www.lizgarnett.com for her website and starts work on getting some new products for her range of flower portraits.  These will be available at her open studio in June.

Liz designs and photographs her image for this year's Christmas card and work gets underway for the publicity of South East Open Studios 2006.

November 2005

Liz joins fellow Salon 67 members in a group exhibition "Presenting Salon 67" at the Tiger Inn in Stowting.  Liz is displaying her new flower portraits of Dahlias.

October 2005

Liz joins fellow Salon 67 members in a group exhibition Colours II at The Marlowe theatre in Canterbury.  The group is also working on new works for an exhibition at The Tiger Inn in Stowting in November.

September 2005

Liz launches her first solo exhibition in five years entitled "Flowers" at the Kings Head in Wye.  The private view coincides with a wine tasting.  The exhibition runs until Tuesday 15 November.

Liz joins fellow Salon 67 members in an exhibition Beach II at The Woodman in Sevenoaks.  The exhibition runs for a month with a private view on Thursday 20 October.

August 2005

Liz will be sitting in at the Wearable Art exhibition at The West End House Gallery in Smarden on Sunday 21 August.

Liz continues to sell work to contacts made at South East Open Studios.

July 2005

Liz has been interviewed for a feature in September's Kent Life.

Liz has been offered the first exhibition space at a new gallery restaurant in Wye.  Liz will be exhibiting her series of flowers at The Kings Head, Church Street, Wye near Ashford between 14 September and 15 November 2005.

June 2005

South East Open Studios starts mid June and Liz Garnett will be opening her studio for three weekends.  The open studios event gives visitors the chance to meet Liz view past and current work as well as work in progress.  It is an opportunity to find out more about art photography; film formats; media etc.  The last weekend Liz will be open is 25/26 June.

Liz has had work accepted into the Picture This 2 exhibition at the Sassoon Gallery, Folkestone.  This exhibition features work by Kent artists and runs until Sunday 24 July 2005.

The Hackney Museum Summer Salon With A Twist exhibition has been extended to 9 July due to it's great success and the enthusiastic response it has received from the public

May 2005

Liz has had three emulsion lift photographs accepted for the Summer Salon: With a Twist exhibition at Hackney Museum which runs until 24 June 2005.

On Saturday 21st Liz joined Ashford Visual Artists at the Bandstand in the centre of Ashford to promote Ashford's professional artists.

Liz has added another design to her limited edition mugs.  

Liz prepares for opening her studio as part of South East Open Studios (June) by adding to the services she offers.  These include: placemats, screens, wallpaper, lamps, tiles etc.  These will all be to order and, of course, limited editions.

Liz has taken down her work for the Salon 67 exhibition at The Tiger Inn in Stowting.  The group will be back at The Tiger in November for three months.  Numerous other exhibitions are in the pipeline.

Liz launches her 2005 limited edition mug.  Each mug is signed and is from an edition of 75.
